Hint: When electric discharge passes through dry oxygen, then ozone is formed. Oxygen is never converted into ozone completely and we always obtain a mixture of oxygen and ozone.

Complete step by step answer:
Ozone is prepared in the laboratory by passing electric discharge through dry oxygen. Due to electric current some of the oxygen molecules dissociates and then atomic oxygen combines with oxygen molecules to form ozone.
100L dry oxygen is present in a sealed container and is passed through electric discharge initially when$T = 0.$ $3\,{O_{2\,\,\,\, \to \,\,}}2\,{O_3}$
At TK, the total volume of oxygen and ozone is 100 litre. When the reaction is completed after time T the total volume of oxygen and ozone will be:
$100 - 3x\, = 2x$
$\therefore 100\, = \,5x$
Or $x = 20$
TK have volume of ozone = $ = 2x\, = 2 \times 20 = 40l$

Therefore, the correct option is option (C).

Note:
It is noted that when the oxygen is subjected to electric discharge, it is 10 % converted to ozone. A mixture of ozone and oxygen is called ozonized oxygen. Ozone is prepared by passing silent electric discharge through oxygen.
