(b) Acidity is caused by the creation of excess acid by the gastric juice during digestion in the
stomach and the stomach produces HCl i.e., Hydrochloric acid which helps in the digestion of food
and when this acid is produced in excess then it causes acidity.
It is also caused when the upper part of the stomach moves above the diaphragm which helps to
keep acid in our stomach.
