Substituting the given values in the above equation, we get:
$c = \dfrac{1}{{\sqrt {2 \times 8} }}$
$ \Rightarrow c = \dfrac{1}{{\sqrt {16} }} = \dfrac{1}{4}$
$\therefore c = 0.25m/s$
