We know that the velocity of a car is nothing but the rate of change of displacement with respect to time. In simple language, velocity shows that at what time, a car does displacement. Velocity has both magnitude and direction therefore velocity is a vector quantity. If we take magnitude of velocity, we get speed. That is, the magnitude of velocity is nothing but speed.
