- Diseases is a condition where the body cannot maintain the structure or could not perform the functions it is supposed to perform. There are specific symptoms for specific diseases and these diseases affect the specific part of the body of the body.
Diseases are defined into these different types namely:
(I) Chronic disease: Long period diseases. For instance diabetes.
(II) Infectious diseases: Which can be transmitted from one to another. For Example CoronaVirus (COVID-19)
(III) Acute Diseases: Diseases that remain in the body for short term Like common cold.
(IV) Non-infectious diseases: Which are not transmitted from one to another For instance Cancer.
(V) Genetic disorder: Genetic disorder or genetic disease is caused by one or more genetic mutations. It is often inherited.
Note: The study of diseases is called pathology. It involves determination of the cause of the disease, the understanding of structure and possibly finding the cure for the disease.
