- Hint: The most important information that would be used in this question is as follows
As the first car is overtaken by the second car, then we can consider that the distance travelled by both to be the same because we are asked to consider the situation till the second car overtakes the first one.
The most important formula that would be required to solve this question is the relation between distance, speed and time that is as follows
 \[distance=speed\times time\]

Complete step-by-step solution -
As mentioned in the question, we have to calculate the speed of the car that overtakes the first car.
Let the distance travelled by both the cars be d. Also, the total time that passed before the second car passed the first car is 6 hours. Now, we use the formula given in the hint to solve the question as follows
\[\begin{align}
  & d=50\times 6 \\
 & d=300\ km \\
\end{align}\]
Using this value of the distance travelled in total but we also know that the time taken by the second car is one hour less that is 5 hours, hence, we get the following as a result
\[\begin{align}
  & \dfrac{300}{5}=s \\
 & s=60km/hr \\
\end{align}\]
Hence, the speed of the second car is 60 km/hr.

Note: -The students can make an error if they don’t know the formula that is used in solving this question which is also mentioned in the hint as follows
The most important formula that would be required to solve this question is the relation between distance, speed and time that is as follows
