Hint: This problem deals with basic mathematics. Such as basic mathematical computations like addition and subtraction. Given there is a box in which there are a particular amount of pencil packets and two persons take a distinct amount of packets from it and we have to find out how many packets are left out in the box.

Complete step-by-step solution:
Here given that there are 25 packets of pencils in a big box.
No. of pencil packets in the packet box = 25
There are two persons who take these packets from the box namely Sachin and Ajay.
Sachin takes seven pencil packets from the packet box.
Whereas Ajay takes eight pencil packets from the packet box.
Both of them take a distinctive amount of packets from the box.
No. of pencil packets taken by Sachin from the box = 7
No. of pencil packets taken by Ajay from the box = 8
First the no. of pencil packets present in the box in the beginning = 25
Now Sachin takes 7 pencil packets from the pencil box.
The remaining no. of pencil packets in the box after Sachin takes 7 pencil packets is given by:
$ \Rightarrow 25 - 7$
$ \Rightarrow 18$
Hence there are 18 pencil packets remaining after Sachin takes 7 pencil packets.
Now Ajay takes 8 pencil packets from the box after sachin.
The leftover no. of pencil packets in the box after Ajay takes 8 pencil packets is given by:
$ \Rightarrow 18 - 8$
$ \Rightarrow 10$
Thus there are 10 pencil packets remaining after both Sachin and Ajay took 7 and 8 pencil packets from the box respectively.
$\therefore $10 packets are left in the box.

Option B is the correct answer.

Note: While solving this problem the most important thing to understand and keep in mind is that while we are finding the number of packets remaining after Sachin takes seven packets. There are 18 packets remaining. Now to calculate the number of packets remaining after Ajay takes eight packets, it is found by subtracting the 8 packets from 18 packets but not from 25 packets, as the seven packets are already taken by Sachin.
