Dear Editor,
I am Shanta, a resident of Chennai and I am writing this letter to bring the kind attention of the readers to the difficulties caused by stray dogs, through the column of your esteemed newspaper.
In a city like Chennai, traffic and accidents are regular happenings. Though these incidents have become normalized, it is an important issue for which we need to try and find a solution to. It has come to my notice that a large number of accidents are caused by stray dogs. These accidents can be easily avoided and help save lives, time and assets.
Hence, I request the concerned authorities to take a serious look into the matter and initiate programs to control the population or transfer the dogs to shelter homes and ensure the safety and welfare of the people of Chennai.
