Hint: Mountain ranges are series or chains of mountains. On our earth, these are the result of many geological activities particularly due to the movement of tectonic plates. These have different characteristics and structures like thrust sheets, uplifted blocks, fold mountains etc. Aravalli hills are one of the oldest mountain ranges of India.

Complete answer:
Aravalli hills, literally means 'line of peaks' are northwestern mountain ranges that run through four states—Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat. It is the oldest fold mountain in India, older than Himalayan ranges. Guru Shikhar is the highest point located in Mount Abu in Rajasthan. These are divided into two major ranges— the Sambhar Sirohi range and the Sambhar Khatri range in Rajasthan.
Three important features of Aravalli hills are as follows:-
1.The Aravalli hills extend across the western and north-western margins of the peninsular plateau in particular across four states — Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat.

2.These are heavily eroded and shattered hills and lie in the northern direction of the Satpura ranges.

3.These are stretched from Gujarat to Delhi in the Southwest-Northeast direction and give rise to rivers like bananas, luni, Sakhi and Sabarmati.

Note:Aravalli is a Sanskrit term which means 'line of peaks' are the oldest fold mountain ranges in India. It spans from Gujarat to Delhi with the highest point in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. The Sambhar Sirohi range and the Sambhar Khatri range in Rajasthan are two subdivisions of Aravalli hills. It is the source of several rivers such as bananas, luni, Sakhi and Sabarmati.
