Consumption of electricity is one of our biggest environmental concerns. In the last few decades, we have reduced our dependence on the use of fossil fuels and electricity has become the main source of energy. But the use of electricity is costly and it is not an adequate source of energy. Therefore, we have to use electricity in a way that does not draw a lot of supply.

Here are the few activities that we can do to save electricity:
-We can use low power rating electrical appliances in our homes. The tungsten filament bulb draws around 60 W of power while the CFL and LED bulbs draw less than 20 W power and still illuminate the room better than 60 W bulbs.
-We can turn off the electrical appliances when not in use. It seems obvious but even when the electrical appliances are on standby, they draw little amount of current.
-We can keep the windows open in the daylight and embrace the natural light. This will help in keeping off the light bulbs in daytime.
-We can plant some trees around our house so that they can maintain the cooler environment in the room. In this way, we can reduce the use of Air conditioners.
