Hint: Scientific names usually contain two components, the generic name which denotes the genus and the specific name which denotes the species. It is written in Latin.

Complete answer:
The scientific name of the human being is Homo sapiens. Homo is a part of the generic name and indicates the genus, therefore humans belong to genus Homo and sapiens is a part of a specific epithet that signifies we belong to species sapiens. Scientific names are written following the system of binomial nomenclature.

Additional Information:
The system of binomial nomenclature is most widely used and was introduced by Carolus Linnaeus, a Swedish Doctor.
Certain universal rules are needed to be followed for binomial nomenclature :
1) Biological names are derived from Latin language or are converted to Latin. This is done because Latin is a dead language and there is little or no chance of modification in it.
2) A biological name is unique for each organism and is universally accepted.
3) Scientific names are printed in italics and both generic and specific epithet are separately underlined when handwritten.
4) The first word indicates the genus and starts with a capital letter and the specific epithet starts with a small letter.
5) The name of the author or discoverer is written in the abbreviated form separately after the scientific name. The name of the author is not italicized when printed or underlined when handwritten.
The set of rules and guidelines for the nomenclature of plants is given by the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (ICBN) and for animals, it is given by the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN).

Note: Another system of nomenclature also exists known as the trinomial type and was given by Lamarck. It comprises the generic name, specific name, and sub-specific name. Example - Brassica oleracea var.capitata (Cabbage). This should not be confused with the binomial system of nomenclature where the 3rd part of the name includes the name of the author but in the trinomial system, the 3rd part is the sub-specific epithet.
