A cash crop is an agricultural crop that is grown to sell for profit motive. Cash crops are grown with the motive for direct sale in the market rather than for family consumption. It is purchased by parties that are separate from a farm. Some examples of cash crops are coffee, tea, sugarcane, spices, cotton, and jute.
(a) Cotton: Cotton is a plant that usually needs a long frost-free period and needs a lot of heat and plenty of sunshine. It requires a warm and humid climate. The ideal air temperature is 70 to 100 degrees F.

(b) Jute: Jute crop needs a humid climate with a temperature between 24 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius. The minimum rainfall that is required for jute cultivation is 1000mm.

(c) Sugarcane: Sugarcane is one of the tropical plants that is why it requires a year of warm weather to reach maturity. A temperature of 20 degrees to 26 degrees is required and an average rainfall of 150 cm is suitable for its cultivation. Sugarcane grows well in light clay and alluvium soil.

Note:There are three main cropping seasons that are rabi, Kharif, and Zaid.
Rabi: Rabi crop is sown between October to December and harvested in April-June.
Kharif: Kharif crop is sown between June-July and harvested in September-October.
