Hint: Cells are membrane bound structures which are the fundamental units of all living organisms. They are the basic and smallest unit of every living organism. They consist of nuclei along with various other cell organelles.
Complete answer:
(a) When cells having similar properties group together to perform a specific function, they are referred to as tissues. An aggregation of different tissues forms an organ, the assembly of different organs forms an organ system and different organ systems in juxtaposition form an organism.
(b) Plants have three basic cell types; they are, the parenchyma cells, collenchyma cells and the sclerenchyma cells. Amongst these, the parenchyma cells which are soft and succulent in nature are the least specialized cells in plants.
(c) The meristematic tissue in plants contains cells that remain young and constantly divide throughout the life of the plant. The lateral meristem cells of the cork cambium and the vascular cambium are responsible for increase in the diameter of the stem and root in dicot plants.
Note: While both plants and animals are composed of cells, the plant cells are much more rigid in their structure due to the presence of a cell wall and a vacuole which are absent in animal cells. In animal cells, vacuole is seen, but is very small in size when compared to the plant cell vacuole.
