Tendons and ligaments are the connective tissue which are the essential component of the skeletal and muscular system of the body. They belong to the class of Dense granular connective tissue and are required for proper functioning of skeletal and muscular systems. Though they have many similarities, differences between them exist too.

Note: Tendons and ligaments also differ with one another in the blood supply in which tendons have heavy blood supply while ligaments usually show poor blood supply.
