Hint: Indian space programme relates with the achievements of our nation, India, in the field of astronomy and space endeavours. Describe the series of Chandrayan missions by ISRO.

Complete step by step answer:
Dr. Vikram Sarabhai led India’s space program primarily. He is known as the father of Indian Space Programme. The development of application of Space Science and technology for socio-economic benefits has been the main objective of this program.
The milestone in space technology of India was set by the launch of Chandrayaan I in the year 2008. Chandrayan was to orbit around the earth for two years. During the period, it would send data to scientists. The scientists with the help of the data would study various aspects of the moon, and will prepare a map of the moon. The map would further help in the study of the moon.
The second lunar exploration mission that was developed by ISRO is Chandrayan II, after Chandrayaan I. This spacecraft was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh in 2019. Its mission was to land on the dark side of the Moon. The craft reached the Moon's orbit in some days and began orbital positioning to land on the Vikram lander. However, Vikram lander deviated from its path while attempting to land. A failure analysis report submitted states that the crash was caused by a software glitch.

Note: ISRO is planning to re-attempt in 2021 with Chandrayan III. The Indian Space Research Organisation is abbreviated as ISRO in the solution. Chandrayan, in Hindi, translates to ‘Chandra’ meaning Moon and ‘yaan’ meaning vehicle, that is, a vehicle to reach the moon.
