Hint: We all know Sun’s rays fall on earth but not every place gets the same sunlight. So because of this uneven sunlight, there is uneven heating of the earth which causes various climate patterns.

Heat zones are defined as the different zones of the earth, where the sun's rays fall differently, hence causing different climate patterns because of variation in the heat generated. The fact that the Earth is spherical in shape results in different parts of the Earth getting heated differently. Based on the heat received from the Sun, the Earth is divided into three heat zones. The three heat zones of the Earth are the Torrid Zone, Temperate Zone, and Frigid Zone.
Torrid Zone - The Torrid is also known as the Tropics. The zone is bounded on the north by the Tropic of Cancer and on the south by the Tropic of Capricorn. These latitudes mark the northern and southern extremes in which the sun seasonally passes directly overhead.
Temperate Zone - In the two temperate zones, the Sun is never directly overhead, and the climate is mild, generally ranging from warm to cool. The four annual seasons, spring, summer, autumn, and winter, occur in these areas.
Frigid Zone - The two frigid zones, or polar regions, experience the midnight sun and the polar night for part of the year. The summer season in this region lasts for about 2 to 3 months and there are almost 24 hours of sunlight during summer. The sun's rays are always slanting and provide less heat.
