The Justice party was founded on 20 November, 1916 in the Madras Presidency of British India. It was a political party. Dr. C. Natesa Mudaliar, P. Theagaraya Chetty, and T. M. Nair established the party as a result of a sequel of non-Brahmin meetings and conferences. During the late-19th and early-20th centuries, the communal division between Brahmins and non-Brahmins began in the presidency, primarily because of caste biases and excessive Brahmin representation in government employment.
