The 3 level of Panchayati Raj system consists of:
- District Level Panchayat
- Block Level Panchayat

Village Level Panchayat:
It's a civic agency that works for the village's wellbeing. The Panchayati Raj is a form of government in which the basic administration units are Gram Panchayat. The number of members typically varies between 7 and 31; groups are occasionally bigger, but they seldom have less than seven members.In Hindi, the head of the council is called Sarpanch, and each of the five members is a Gram Panchayat Sadasya, or Panch. Each villager can voice his opinion on the governance of his village in such a framework. Without a long legal process, decisions are made.

Block level panchayat :
The institution at block level is called the Panchayat Samiti. At the tehsil or Taluka level in India, Panchayat samiti is a local government body. It works for the Tehsil or Taluka villages, which together are called a Development Block. The relation between the Gram Panchayat and the administration of the district is the Panchayat Samiti. The Samiti is elected for a term of five years and is led by the President and the Deputy Chairman.

District level panchayat :
The panchayati raj system at the district level is called "Zila Parishad". It looks after the district's rural area administration and its office is located at the headquarters of the district. The President of all the Panchayat Samitis is made up of the members of Zila Parishad.It is the connection between the government of the state and the Samiti Panchayat.

The country has 234,078 Panchayati Raj institutions.
The high schools and upper primary schools were moved to the District of Panchayats in rural areas and the primary schools were transferred to Gram Panchayats.
On October 2, 1959, in Nagaur district, the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated the Panchayati Raj system.
