Why have many wildlife species become endangered and rare? Give reasons.

Complete answer:The ecosystems are undergoing a major change due to several reasons like pollution, over-exploitation, invasive species, humans, climate change, etc. Due to this, even the wildlife species are not spared. Many species are facing a constant risk of being endangered and becoming rare. Some reasons behind the declining number of wildlife are –
Pollution – Pollution is a major reason behind the declining wildlife. The contamination of the natural habitat of the organisms is causing their rapid extinction. Oil spills, water pollution, acid rain, and soil contamination have been devastating for many species of fish and birds.
Poaching and fishing – Many animals are over-hunted because their meat, fur, and other parts are very valuable.
Destruction of habitat – Humans destroy the precious habitat of the wildlife. The natural environment of a living thing is hampered when they fill swamps and marshes, construct dams and rivers, and cut down the trees to build homes, roads, and other developments.
Alien invasive species – Many foreign species when entering into a habitat accidentally or are introduced then they cause the extinction of other species.
