Chandrasen had to fight his brothers who had joined his enemy Akbar. Akbar made Chandrasen’s brother the ruler of Jodhpur. Chandrasen was the heir to the Mehrangarh fort. This fort was impenetrable. Raja Maldeo, the father of Chandrasekhar was defeated by the Afghan emperor Sher Shah in 1544. However he won it back within a year. Akar took advantage of the internal conflicts that Chandrasen had with his brothers. With the alliance of the Raja of Bikaner and Amer, he fought Chandrasen in the battle of Merta in 1962, Battle of Sojat and battle of Siwana. Chandrasen wanted to ask help from his brother Askaran. However Askaran had already submitted to the Mughals. Chandrasen had to flee from one region to the other. At the end he was left with a few hundred loyal companions. He died in 1581. After his death the kingdom was taken over by the Mughals. Akbar placed Marwar under the rule of Udai Singh.
