Hint: It is the second smallest planet in our solar system and 4th from the sun. The planet is also known as the Red planet because of the widespread iron oxide on its surface.

Complete answer:
Mars is known as the red planet because of iron oxides prevalent on the surface of the planet, which gives the planet a standout look in association with other astronomical bodies visible to our naked eyes. The planet has physical land with a thin envelope of atmosphere, with a surface that reminds one of the impact craters of the moon, and the valleys, deserts, and polar ice caps of Earth.
The days and seasons are similar to planet earth. Even the rotational period, as well as the tilt of the rotational axis, is relative to the earth. Olympus Mons is the largest volcano and the highest known mountain on any planet in the solar system, and Valles Marineris, one of the largest canyons in our solar system, both are situated on the red planet.
Forty percent of the planet is covered with a smooth Borealis basin. Phobos and Deimos are the two moons, which are small and irregular in shape. Mars has been visited by many unmanned spacecraft.
The first aircraft which made the closest approach to the planet on July 15th of 1965 was Mariner4. The spacecraft captured the first-ever images of another planet from deep space.
Soviet Mars 3 included a lander, which achieved a soft landing but contact was lost upon touchdown. The first successful landing on the martian surface was achieved by Viking 1. The first robotic rover to operate on Mars was carried by Mars Pathfinder which landed on the 5th of July. Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) was the fourth space agency that visited Mars. Due to its low atmospheric pressure, which is less than 1% as compared to earth’s atmospheric pressure, liquid water cannot exist on the surface of Mars except at the lowest elevation for a short period of time.

The correct answer is option B.

Note: One can easily see the planet from Earth with their naked eyes in the form of a red star.
The planet gets its red look from iron oxides which is prevalent on the surface of Mars.
Mars is the home to the largest volcano and highest known mountain on any planet in the solar system.
