Hint: Ivanowsky worked on tobacco plants and facilitated the discovery of the TMV.

Complete answer:
Pasteurization is a process through which food substances are heated at less than 100∘C and then cooled faster and then packed in containers.
The process of pasteurization was invented by Louis Pasteur in 1864.
In the 19th century, Louis Pasteur and Edward Jenner developed the first vaccines, they did not know that viruses existed although all the causes of infectious diseases were then called viruses.
An experiment done on bacteria using a filter having really small pores, enough to retain bacteria, gave evidence of the existence of viruses.
In 1892, Dmitri Ivanovsky used one of these filters to show that sap from a diseased tobacco plant remained infectious despite having been filtered. Martinus Beijerinck called the filtered, disease-causing substance a "virus".
Beijerinck firmly established that the virus was somewhat liquid in nature, calling it "contagium vivum fluidum" (contagious living fluid). He coined the term "virus".
Ivanowsky recognized the Tobacco mosaic virus as the Microorganism causing disease in tobacco plants.
In 1935 Wendell Stanley crystallized tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) for which he received a Nobel prize in 1946 for chemistry.

Hence the incorrect pair is (C.) Ivanowsky discovered retrovirus.

Note: Adolf Meyer was a scientist who coined the name tobacco mosaic disease after seeing dark and light spots on infected leaves of tobacco.
