v) Transpiration loss of water is dependent on vapour pressure gradient present between the leaf mesophyll tissue and the atmosphere. Hence, atmospheric humidity is also an important factor that determines the absorption of water from the soil.
vi) Active absorption is dependent on cellular respiration.

Note: The gradient of water potential from the root hair to the xylem vessels is really need for the absorption of water by the roots. The root hair absorbs the water. Root hairs are permeable and hydrophilic, it absorbs water from the spaces between the soil particles. The cell wall of the root hair is thinly permeable with a semi-permeable plasma membrane.
