Hint : Rusting is a natural phenomenon. It is an oxidation reaction. Rust is a reddish – brown oxide formed by the reaction of iron with the oxygen in the presence of catalyst water or air. Iron oxide or rust is composed of hydrous iron $ (III) $ oxide and iron $ (III) $ oxide-hydroxide.

Complete Step By Step Answer:
Rust acts as a parasite for most of the metals especially iron and eats them away making them weak and fragile.
So, to prevent rust, coating of more rust-resistant metal is applied on top of corrosive metals to prevent them from undergoing rusting.
Such one, highly resistant metal is Austenitic stainless steel, such as $ 304 $ and $ 316 $ .
Austenitic stainless steel is composed of Nickel and Chromium, this metal is highly resistant to rust.
Now, let’s see its mechanism, the chromium present in Austenitic stainless steel reacts more readily with oxygen than iron and forms a protective layer of chromium oxide .This layer is highly resistant to rust and prevents underlying metal from corrosion.
However, other ferritic and martensitic stainless steel can undergo rusting because of the presence of less amount of chromium in them.
Therefore, the correct answer to our question is Austenitic stainless steel. It is highly resistant to rusting.

Note :
Rusting takes place over a period of time so there are several ways to prevent rusting. First of all, keep your metal away from the moisture , air and water , try to polish your metal objects , try to use alloys , apply oils , and galvanize .
