Hint: The solar system includes the Sun, the planets and several asteroids and meteors which are bound to it gravitationally. There are a total of 8 planets in our solar system namely, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus.
Complete answer:The planets are divided into 3 types;
Terrestrial Planets; Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars.
Gas Giants; Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
Dwarf Planets; Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, Eris.
The planets are mainly made up of rocks and gases. The Terrestrial planets have a rocky structure while the jovian planets are rich in gases.
All the 8 planets in the Solar System rotate in their orbit around the Sun in the direction of the Sun's in an anti-clockwise direction. Venus and Uranus are the two exceptional planets which rotate in a clockwise direction.
The planets usually rotate from west to east on their axis. Venus and Uranus move from east to west. That is why their rotation is known as retrograde rotation.
Looking at the options given:
Option a: The Earth takes 24hours to complete one rotation which equals to one day. This is not the correct option.
Option b: Jupiter rotates at a faster rate and takes only 10 hours for one rotation. This is the correct answer.
Option c: Mars takes 24 hours and 37 minutes to complete one rotation. This is the incorrect option.
Option d: Venus takes 243 Earth days to complete one rotation. This is the incorrect option.
Hence, option 'b' is the correct answer.
Note: The rotating speed of a planet is inversely related to the number of days. Higher the speed of rotation of a planet, the lesser is the number of days. Venus is the planet with the least rotating speed.
