Hint: The chemical element nitrogen has the symbol N and the atomic number 7. Daniel Rutherford, a Scottish physician, was the first to discover and isolate it in 1772. Despite the fact that Carl Wilhelm Scheele and Henry Cavendish had done so separately about the same time, Rutherford is often given credit because his work was published first.

Complete answer:
When nitrogen was discovered in nitric acid and nitrates in 1790, French chemist Jean-Antoine-Claude Chaptal proposed the name nitrogen. Because it is an asphyxiant gas, Antoine Lavoisier proposed the name azote, which is used in many languages, including French, Italian, Russian, Romanian, Portuguese, and Turkish, and also appears in the English names of various nitrogen compounds such as hydrazine, azides, and azo compounds. Atomic mass of nitrogen is 14. Nitrogen is the lightest element in Periodic Group 15, often known as the pnictogens. It is a common element in the cosmos, with a total abundance estimated to be around eighth in the Milky Way and Solar System. Two atoms of the element join together at ordinary temperature and pressure to generate dinitrogen, a colourless and odourless diatomic gas with the formula N2. Dinitrogen is the most prevalent uncombined element, accounting for 78 percent of the Earth's atmosphere.

Note:
The chemical sector relies on nitrogen. Fertilisers, nitric acid, nylon, colours, and explosives are all made from it. Nitrogen must first be reacted with hydrogen to form ammonia before these products may be made.
