Hint: A noun is a word that is used to name a person, place, thing, idea, action or quality. A pronoun is a word used in the place of a noun. Pronouns are also used to indicate whether the sentence is in the first, second or third person. Verbs are the words that show action, and express an act and are used in the correct forms with respect to the pronoun.

Complete answer:
In a sentence, a pronoun is a word that replaces a noun or noun phrase. Pronouns can refer to a noun that has already been described or to a noun that does not need to be called explicitly. I, you, She, He, They, and others are examples of pronouns.

While writing sentences we either write them in the first person, second person or third person.
For first-person sentences, we use the words ‘I’ and ‘We’. For e.g. I am writing a letter. For the second person sentences, we use the word ‘you’. For e.g. You should read this book. For third-person sentences, we use the words he, she, it, they, etc. For e.g. He/she finished his/her work on time. They finished their work on time.

Therefore, ‘I’ is a pronoun that refers to oneself. It's written in the first person. Though it appears to be singular, it uses the present simple special verb ‘am’, and other verbs which are plural like ‘have', ‘do,' and so on.

Therefore, ‘I’ is a pronoun that refers to oneself

Note: Other forms of “I” or the first person words are; me, mine, my, myself. They work as different parts of speech but they all indicate the first person. For e.g.
- This is my book. (here is a possessive adjective).
- I did the work, all by myself. (here it works as an adverb).
