Hint:Ionization equation as the names suggests that there will be involvement of ions and here is an example of ionization equation:
In this sodium ion is formed.
Complete step-by-step answer:When the atoms combine to form compounds, there are several types of mechanisms involved in them. In some mechanisms, there is the formation of intermediates, transition states, electrically charged atoms or molecules, etc.
So, the mechanism in which charged particles are involved can be called the ionization equation. With the help of ionization, charged particles and X-rays are converted into matter.
Ions are formed when there is the formation of ions, there are two types of ions, i.e., positive and negative ions. The positive ions are those when there is the removal of electrons and negative ions are when the electrons are gained.
An example of the formation of a positive ion is given below:
In this, there is the formation of sodium ions by the removal of an electron.
Now, the reaction in which negative ion is there is given below:
In this, there is the formation of chloride ions by the addition of an electron.
When these two reactions, combine then there is the formation of sodium chloride (NaCl), the reaction is given below:
This is an ionization reaction because ions are involved in it.
Some other examples of ionization reactions are the formation of magnesium oxide from Magnesium cation and oxygen cation. The reaction is given below:
Note:Ionization equations are possible only if the compound formed is an ionic compound. The equation cannot be written for the covalent compounds in which both the elements are formed between the non-metals.
