The angiosperms are seed-bearing plants that have flowers. They are also known by another name, Magnoliophyta. This flower is the reproductive organ of the plant. When sexual reproduction happens, the pollen grain from the anther or the male reproductive system of the plant falls on the pistil or the female reproductive system. Over here a zygote forms inside the ovary. Eventually, the ovary swells up and it forms into a fruit. This fruit contains a seed. When the seed is placed into the soil, it germinates and thus the reproductive cycle is complete.
The angiosperms are the most complex plant group on our planet. There are officially 416 families under angiosperm. Plants such as the oak tree, the sunflower, the tomato plant and many others are included under this category. These plants have a complicated vascular system inside of them that is made up of many vascular tissues and vessels. This enables these plants to grow to great heights and survive in harsh conditions.
