Option A, President is the current Head of State of India and the present President is Ram Nath Kovind. He was elected as President in 2017 after being nominated by BJP, the party which is run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is elected by the Electoral College indirectly and is also the Commander in Chief of Indian Armed Forces. The main duty of the President is to preserve, protect and defend the constitution and the law of India which is taken by him in his oath. In case of his absence Vice-President becomes the ruling authority and so the salary drawn by him is also of the President. So, it is the correct answer.
