Hint:The Celsius and the Kelvin scale are related unit for unit, the difference between these two scales is the zero point.Celsius scale was invented in 1742 by the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius; it is based on the freezing point of water and the boiling point of water. It is sometimes called the centigrade scale because of the 100-degree interval between the defined points (Zero degree for the freezing point and 100 degree for the boiling point).
Complete answer:
The Celsius scale is generally compatible at places where the metric system of measurement is followed. The Kelvin scale on the other hand is an absolute temperature scale based on the carnot cycle and invented by Lord Kelvin in 1828. It is an absolute scale in the sense that the Kelvin scale of heat measurement starts from the absolute zero, the lowest possible temperature; at which there is no energy whatsoever present.
Other than this difference of the zero points, the Kelvin scale follows the centigrade scale. Each division in the Kelvin scale, called a Kelvin and is represented by \[K\] which is equal to a degree on the Celsius scale represented by \[^{o}C\]. In Kelvin’s scale, the zero point is 273.15 below that of the Celsius scale. Hence we get the following relation between the Kelvin and the Celsius scale:
\[\text{Temperature in Kelvin = Temperature in}{{~}^{o}}C\text{ }+\text{ }273.15\]
So according to the above relation, the zero Kelvin on a Celsius scale would be equal to \[~-{{273.15}^{o}}C\].
Note: There is one more important scale of temperature that is Fahrenheit temperature scale. Originally the zero of this scale was the temperature of an equal ice-salt mixture and selected the values of \[30{}^\circ \] and \[90{}^\circ \] for the freezing point of water and normal body temperature, respectively; these later were revised to \[32{}^\circ \] and \[98.6{}^\circ \]. Currently the scale is based on \[32{}^\circ \] for the freezing point of water and \[212{}^\circ \] for the boiling point of water, the interval between the two is divided into 180 equal parts.
