Hint: In order to solve this question, we should know that velocity is the rate of change of distance with respect to time, whereas acceleration is the rate of change of velocity with respect to time, here we will discuss about uniform and non-uniform motion and their related concepts.

Uniform motion is defined as the motion in which body moves uniformly such that velocity of a body remains constant that’s why the term uniform is used which shows that velocity is uniform such that body moves with the same velocity along its path and if we find acceleration of a body having uniform motion we will find that,
$a = \dfrac{{dv}}{{dt}}$
where $a$ is acceleration and $dv, dt$ are the change in velocity and time.
Since, velocity is constant in uniform motion so derivative of any constant term is zero, So, acceleration of a uniform motion is $a = 0$ Hence, uniform motion needs the concept of velocity instead of acceleration. whereas,
Non-uniform motion is defined as the motion in which body moves with different velocities in at different interval of times along the path followed by the body, and whenever there’s change in velocity of a body, body gets accelerated so, non-uniform motion don’t have constant velocity but have a definite acceleration that’s why Non-uniform motion needs the concept of acceleration.
Note: It should be remembered that, in case of non-uniform motion acceleration of a body can either have a positive acceleration in which body will result in increase in its velocity or body may have a negative acceleration in which body will result in decrease in its velocity.
