Hint: The cell is the basic structural and functional unit of our body. Human body is made up of an infinite number of cells. These cells have similar structure and function, group together and form tissues which perform specialised functions in our body.

Complete answer:
The cells are called the building blocks of life. Human body has eight types of cells on the basis of the tissues they form. The cells are categorised as:
1.Bone cells- Bone forms the connective tissue. The bone cells are called the osteocytes,
2.Cartilage cells form the cartilage which is flexible and provides flexibility to various body parts.
3.Nerve cells are called the neurons which help in transmission of nerve impulses.

5.Muscle cells help in muscle contraction which facilitates movement.
6.Secretory cells form glands which secrete hormones. The hormones are responsible for maintaining growth and development.
7.Adipose cells form the adipose tissue which helps in storage of fat.
8.Blood cells- The blood cells form the fluid connective tissue. The blood cells are of three types RBC, WBC, platelets.

Hence, the correct answer is option (C)

Note: The stem cells in our body are the type of cell which can differentiate into any kind of cell. They have the tendency to develop into an organ or organism. The stem cell is a promising treatment of genetic degenerative diseases like cancer.
