Hint: Every organism requires nutrients and other things in order to survive. This material reaches different parts of the body with the help of liquid-like blood or in plants water plays a major role.

Complete answer:
Living organisms especially plants and animals that show a complex organ system level of specialization and body organization have multiple essential life processes going on. Each organ performs a specific function and the transport of different materials is necessary to maintain homeostasis in the body. The removal of waste, the distribution of food material and water, and the exchange of gases are few important processes that require transportation and communication between various organs.
There are various systems and processes that transport materials in and out of the cell-like diffusion, osmosis, active-passive transport, etc.
Plants have 2 specialized vascular tissues for the purpose of transport of materials- xylem and phloem. Xylem transports the water and minerals that are absorbed by the roots to the different parts of the planet like leaves and flowers and the phloem is responsible for the transport of food manufactured in the leaves as sucrose to different plant parts.
Animals have blood which acts as a transport medium for a plethora of different processes. The transport and exchange of carbon dioxide is necessary for the removal of toxic CO2 from the blood. The digested food needs to be transported to various organs of the body. The toxic wastes like urea are removed by transporting it to the kidneys.

Note: -The flow of materials in the xylem is unidirectional and the flow of materials in phloem is bidirectional.
-Inactive transport of substances energy is required and is given in the form of ATP.
-Gases are usually transported through diffusion and liquid by osmosis
-At a given time there are multiple transport processes taking place within the cell as well as in between the cell.
