Hint: There are two commonly used temperature scales such as Fahrenheit and Celsius scale. Both the units are called degrees. If you see the symbol ‘F’ it is called Fahrenheit scale and symbol ‘C’ stands for the Celsius scale. Thus we can convert degree scale temperature to Celsius scale by subtracting 32 and multiplying by 59.

Complete step-by-step solution:
We know that,
F=95C+32
That is, the degree Celsius can be converted into Fahrenheit scale using the above equation.
Similarly, the degree Fahrenheit can be converted into a celsius scale using the equation.
C=(F32)×59
Hence by substituting the values we get,
C=(212F32)×59C=100C
Therefore the temperature 212F is the same as 100 degree Celsius.

Note:Similarly 1 degree Celsius scale is equal to 33.8 degree Fahrenheit. And we can define the Celsius scale as a relative scale and it is not an absolute scale. This is because the interval of temperature between the 20 degree and 30 degree will be the same as 30 degree to 40 degree. One degree Celsius is the freezing point of water. In the Fahrenheit scale the water has a freezing point of 32 degrees and boiling point of water is 212 degree Fahrenheit. The celsius scale is also known as the centigrade scale. The freezing point of water is zero degree Celsius or 32 degree Fahrenheit. The boiling point of water is 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 212 degrees Fahrenheit is equal to 100 degree Celsius.
