Hint:Keshav Baliram Hegdewar was the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. It was formed as part of the movement against British rule and as a response to rioting between Hindus and Muslims.

Complete answer:
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, often called RSS, was set up on 27 September 1925. It was founded by Keshav Baliram Hegdewar. He believed that the British were able to rule over India because the Hindus were disunited. He recruited young energetic Hindus who desired revolution and taught them paramilitary techniques like sword, dagger, lathi and javelin. They also performed Hindu rituals and ceremonies to bind the members as a religious community. They used the saffron flag of ‘Shivaji’ as the emblem of their new organization.
After two years, he organized Officer’s Training Camps, with the aim of forming cooperation with key workers whom he called ‘Pracharaks’. The volunteers were first asked to become ‘sadhus’ by renouncing their family and professional lives and then dedicating themselves to the cause of the organization.
There have been various speculations about the motivations for the formation of the RSS.
Since Hegdewar never involved the organization in fighting the British, it is also interpreted that the RSS was formed to fight only the Indian Muslims. The RSS was banned once by the British government and it was banned thrice by the Indian government after independence. Post-Independence, RSS was first banned when Nathuram Godse assassinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1948. The second ban was during the emergency in 1975, and the third ban was imposed after the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.

Thus, the correct answer is option (B) 1925.

Note:RSS is the world's biggest NGO with over 5 million active members (swayamsevaks) and over 100 affiliates.
Across the country, the organization operates over 57,000 shakhas, up from 45,000 in 2010.
