Hint: In this particular type of question we have to proceed by finding the total amount of money he has. Then we need to divide the total amount of money with the new cost of a dozen bananas to get the number of bananas he could buy with the same amount of money.

Complete step-by-step answer:

Price of a dozen =Rs30
Price of 12 dozens of bananas = $Rs30 \times 12 = Rs360$
If the price is increased by Rs10 for each dozen of bananas. It means that now Rs40 is the price of each dozen bananas.
Hence, total bananas Aditya can buy= $\dfrac{{360}}{{40}} = 9dozens$
Aditya can buy 9 dozen bananas of cost Rs40 each.

Note: Recall that in this question we are finding the number of bananas he could buy using the same amount of money. If the rate of bananas decreases then the number of dozens of bananas he can buy will increase, similarly if the rate of bananas increases then the number of dozens of bananas he can buy will decrease. Also know that 1 dozen is equal to 12 in quantity.
