Hint: In this particular type of question firstly we have to find the area of an individual paving stone and the area of the veranda using the formula of area of a rectangle in each case. Then we have to divide the area of verandah the area of each stone to get the number of required paving stones.

Complete step-by-step answer:
Area of each paving stone
= (10×9)$d{m^2}$
 =90$d{m^2}$

Now, length of veranda = 60 m = 600 dm (since 1 m = 10 dm)

Breadth of veranda = 6 m = 60 dm

$ \Rightarrow $Area of veranda = (600×60) $d{m^2}$

= 36000$d{m^2}$

$\therefore $ Required number of paving stones = $\dfrac{{36000}}{{90}} = 400$

Note: Remember to recall the formula of the area of the rectangle to solve such types of questions. Note that there is a change in the dimension of two quantities thus we need to convert one of them to the other using the universal measurement system in order to get the required answer.
