Mangrove ecosystem forms a complex network for inhabiting marine animals and amphibians. These are the coastal plants that can survive in salt water and on reaching favorable conditions, they form dense patches along the coastline called swamps or mangrove forests.
Mangrove forests grow along the sea shores, mainly in the regions where saline sea water mixes with the fresh water of rivers (these are often called estuaries of great rivers).Thus, the mangrove ecosystem is formed in salt water but the river has fresh water.
Murrel and Rohu are the fishes inhabiting fresh water. Rohu is often found in freshwater ponds, canals, lakes, ditches, rivers, etc. whereas mussels are found in flowing fresh water. They can inhabit small streams or even larger rivers. They both cannot survive in a saline environment or habitat of sea because of their excretory process and osmoregularity. Fresh water fishes are known to excrete excessive amounts of water. They often excrete out much more water than they consume in actual. But, the case is just the opposite in marine fishes, so they will not be able to survive in the mangrove forest ecosystem having marine habitat.

Note: Mangroves have the capability to absorb four times more carbon dioxide by area than highland terrestrial forests. This particular trait of the mangrove ecosystem can be utilized in forming an extensive variety of goods and services.
