Step by step answer:The liver is an organ that is located in the humans in the right quadrant of the abdomen just below the diaphragm. There are many functions of the liver which include its main function of xenobiotic i.e. detoxification of metabolites. It’s is also responsible for the formation of various proteins and immunoglobulins in the body. It also carries out the function of the production of hormones such as bile important for digestion of fats in the GIT process called amplification of fats. Here in the liver decomposition of red blood cells also occur. The liver is a reddish-brown organ or gland which is known for its secretion of bile. It has two unequal lobes and the liver is connected by two large blood vessels named as a portal vein and hepatic artery. The functional unit of the liver is known as lobules which contain many hepatocytes which are known to be the basic metabolic cells or function carrying cells of the liver. The liver is known to be the largest gland in the human body. As it carries many functions of the body and produces secretions that are used by many other organs.
