He was terrified of Patrick’s cat and begged him to save his life, otherwise, the cat would kill him. He promised that if Patrick would save his life, he would grant him a wish.

Patrick felt very happy and thought that he was a very lucky boy. He saved the elf and asked him to complete his homework. The elf said that he would do his homework. But he had a glitch. He did not know how to solve math questions. Moreover, he was not even good at history or English.

So Patrick decided that he would bring his books and teach the subjects to the elf so that he could write his homework. He brought his books and taught him while the elf wrote his homework.

Note: The climax of the story is that there was no elf in the first place. It was just an imaginary scenario through which the boy had read the books and learnt how to do the homework on his own. Patrick himself had completed all his homework correctly and now he had become a good student.
