When the electric wiring in the house or in the appliance is found to be wrong, and because of that the metallic body of the appliance is carting electricity on it. Then this high voltage or leaked charges will be made to flow into the earth by the process of earthing. This can help us from the exposure to electric shocks when we touch the appliances.
