Hint:He was the first to attempt to classify all the kinds of animals in his History of Animals. He also grouped the types of creatures according to their similarities i.e., animals with blood and animals without blood, animals that live on water and animals that live on land.

Complete answer:
Taxonomy's first father was the philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BC), sometimes also called the "father of science." Aristotle first introduced the key concepts of taxonomy.

Later, Carl Linnaeus was regarded as the father of taxonomy as he developed a system for categorization of organisms and binomial nomenclature for naming organisms. If Linnaeus is now considered as the father of taxonomy it's because his success rested on the work of his predecessors. He was the first, in his System of Nature, to combine a hierarchical system of classification from kingdom to species with the method of binomial nomenclature and by using it to consistently identify every species of both plants and animals then known to him.

Additional information: Taxonomy is the science of naming, describing and classifying organisms. And, it includes all plants, animals and microorganisms of the world. Using certain characteristics like morphological, behavioural, genetic and biochemical observations, taxonomists can identify and arrange species into classifications.

Hence, the correct answer is option (A) i.e., Aristotle.

Note:In a biological classification, a taxonomic rank is the relative level of a group of organisms in a taxonomic hierarchy. Examples of taxonomic ranks are species, genus, family, order, class, phylum, kingdom etc.
