Hint: Silkworms are simply the larva of Bombyx mori, they secrete the silk from their mouth and build a protective coat in order to transform into adult form into insect form. They are usually found in native to northern China. The moth feeds on mulberry leaves. The moth lay eggs and they turn into larvae and are called silkworms. The moth is a large sized white insect and eggs are small white dots.
Complete answer-
Option A Homolecithal- homolecithal is where the quantity of yolk is in small amounts and the yolk is not evenly distributed. Example- mostly in mammalian eggs.
Option A is not the correct answer.
Option B Telolecithal- the telolecithal eggs have a large amount of yolk and it is situated at one end or near to one end.
Option B is not the correct answer.
Option C Mesolecithal- mesolecithal is having the yolk amount in intermediate size and they are accumulated in the hemisphere either left or right but on one side.
Option C is not the correct answer.
Option D Centrolecithal- centrolecithal egg is described to remain at the center where the yolk is in the cytoplasm of ova and for example – silkworm. They have centrolecithal eggs.
Option D is the correct answer.
Hence, option D is the correct answer.
Note:
Many arthropods also possess centrolecithal eggs. The yolk gets accumulated in the center as during cytokinesis the zygotes undergo meroblastic cleavage where the cleavage extends only to store the yolk. Later, it is developed during embryonic development. The human ovum is called isolecithal where they have an even distribution of cytoplasm.
