and, the smallest 4-digit number is 1000.
But, we have to find the smallest and greatest 4-digit number using 3, 8, 0, 5.
So, greatest 4-digit number formed using digits 3, 8, 0, 5 = 8530
and, the smallest 4-digit number formed using digits 3, 8, 0, 5 is = 3058
Place value of digit ‘8’ in Greatest 4-digit number = 8000
Place value of 8 in smallest 4-digit number is = 8
$\therefore $ required difference = 8000 − 8 = $\boxed{7992}$

$\therefore $ option c is the correct answer.
