-The Buddha was born as Siddhartha Gautama in the 5th century BCE in Lumbini near Kapilavastu (Nepal). He was born to a Sakya clan.
-At the age of 29, he abandoned his luxurious life and left his palace along with a charioteer and his favorite horse in search of the truth. He wandered for six years and at the age of 35, he attained enlightenment or Nirvana in Gaya(Bihar) under a peepal tree. It is after his enlightenment he was given the title of Gautama Buddha and the place was called Bodh Gaya and the tree was Bodhi tree.
-Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon at Sarnath and it is called ‘Dharmachakrapravartana’ which means “turning off the wheel of the law”.
-He attained Mahaparinirvana or “the complete Nirvana” at Kushinagar in 544BC at the age of 80 in the Malla Republic.
-The pedagogy of Buddha is understood as Dhamma which means “to uphold” and the eight-fold path is known as Ashtanga Marga.
The Four Great Truths of Gautama Buddha:-
-The world is full of sorrow and misery.
-The reason behind all pain and misery is desire.
-Pain and misery will be ended by killing or controlling the desire.
-Desire is often controlled by following the Eight Fold Path.

Right meditation
Right exercise
Right speech
Right memory
