Hint: The bone which connects the shoulder to the elbow is called the humerus bone. This bone is located in the arm region of the hand. The upper part of the bone had round shaped structure and the lower end had two projections in it.
Complete answer:
Humerus bone is present in both the hands in the arm region. The bone consists of a round head region and the two projections in the end part. In order to know which bone is right humerus and which is left humerus we need to study the anatomy of the bone which will help us to distinguish between them. The bone has a proximal end, shaft and the distal end. The proximal end consists of the head, anatomical neck, greater tubercle and lesser tubercle. The distal end of the bone consists of the articular parts and the non-articular parts. The articular parts consist of the trochlea and capitulum. The capitulum helps us in the determination of the left and right humerus bone. The capitulum is a rounded and convex projection present in the bone which covers the anterior and the interior surfaces of the lateral condyle of the humerus. The side on which the capitulum faces determines the bone side. If the capitulum is facing the right side or is present on the right side of the bone then it is the right humerus bone. If the capitulum is present on the left side of the bone then it is the left humerus bone. The location of the capitulum helps in differentiating the right and left humerus bone.
Note:
The humerus is the longest bone present in the arm. The side on which capitulum is present helps in differentiating the right and left humerus bone. For correct observation the rounded part of the bone should always be kept up and the part containing the capitulum should always be present on the lower end.
