Hint: There are various ways to improve the ecosystem. The methods are all interrelated. Any steps that help the environment can be considered steps to improve the ecosystem.

Complete Answer:
Ecosystem is defined as a geographic area where living organisms and nonliving factors of the environment together form a space which is supportive of life. The living organisms which include plants and animals form the biotic system and the nonliving factors form the abiotic system.

Nowadays ecosystems in India are facing a grave threat of destruction due to many factors which are mostly man made. We need to take steps to improve the ecosystems before the loss is irreparable. Three measures to improve ecosystem in India are:

1. Forested areas should be conserved. Along with it, more trees need to be planted in any empty regions so that the total vegetation cover is improved. In this way, we can prevent deforestation and help in efforts towards afforestation.

2. Wildlife too is an important part of every ecosystem. The animals must be protected from illegal hunting and other threats like habitat destruction and food shortage. This can be done by enacting laws and creating awareness among people.

3. Another effective way to improve the ecosystem is by conservation of resources. If we minimize the use of fossil fuels then it will help in reducing pollution which adversely affects ecosystems. Saving resources also puts less strain on the environment.

Note: India has many different types of ecosystems like the mountain ecosystem, desert ecosystem, forest ecosystem etc.
- Each ecosystem is unique and functions on a delicate chain of interconnected species. If even one part of the chain is affected, the ecosystem is harmed.
- The ecosystem found in the southern art of the Western Ghats in India is one of the most unique ecosystems. It is also called the shola-grassland ecosystem.
- An ecosystem can be natural (example- forests, deserts) or man-made (artificial ponds, gardens, fields).
- India has at least 20 different distinct kinds of agro-ecosystems.
