Hint: In order to solve this question we need to understand sources of energy and their types. Source of energy is defined as a large energy containment whose energy cannot be used directly so you have to do some work to get the energy out from the source. There are two main categories of source of energy, that is, first is renewable source of energy and second is Non-renewable source of energy.
Complete answer:
Renewable source of energy, as the name suggest that these source of energy can be renewed once consumed and more importantly they are sustainable source of energy and they do not cause any harm to environment thus are more reliable. Nonrenewable sources of energy are those energy which cannot be renewed once consumed like energy from coals or woods cannot be refurbished. They are non-sustainable sources of energy.
Steps we can use to consume less energy because as stated we do not have such a large source having an indefinite amount of energy and if we keep using it like the current rate then we would deplete all the known sources of energy for future generation.
-First is to rely on renewable sources more in comparison to non-renewable sources, like using wind and solar energy to use electricity unlike using water force to produce electricity.
-Second is by consuming less energy in day to day life by not wasting it, for example you can switch off the lights while you are not at home, you can use public transport instead of personal vehicles to save petroleum etc.
Note: It should be remembered that the energy we save in small amounts can prove to be very useful for future generations like if everybody saves water just by small amounts then the storage of all waters can prove to be a boon for drought affected areas. If we save petroleum and rely on CNG then it would save the environment and make it more habitable to grow.
