Hint: A real image is formed by the converging rays and the real image is always inverted. An erect image is formed by diverging rays and it is a virtual image. The magnification of the image is based on the position of the object or the distance of the object from the lens. Magnifying power is given by the ratio of the distance of the image from the lens to the distance of the object from the lens.

Complete step-by-step solution:
A projector uses a convex lens which produces a real image and a virtual image too based upon the object position. But as we need the image displayed on the screen, the image should be real and magnified.
Now the real images formed are always inverted.
A real and magnified image can be obtained if we place the object between F and 2F where F is the principal focus and 2F is twice the principal focus. A ray diagram for such an image can be shown as

In the projectors also the slide is placed between the F and 2F to produce the magnified image.
Hence it is true that the projector forms a real, inverted, and magnified image.

Note: A convex lens produces a magnified virtual and erect image therefore it can be mistaken that the projector makes a virtual and erect image as the image which is displayed on the screen are erect and instead of inverted but that’s not the case as the slide is always inserted upside-down so as to create an erect image.
